The legacy of Expo 2023 is to consolidate the development of creative industries in Argentina and spread its advantages and potential.
The legacy is not only to guarantee the urban and social insertion of the project and its operational continuity in real terms but also the definitive consolidation of an action policy of Argentina’s modern production system.
Formed by the union of the almost 200 hectares of green spaces
To physically achieve this union, a "bridge" for pedestrians is planned as a green esplanade that creates continuity for these extensive and, currently, separate areas, thus creating a recreational park that goes beyond the neighborhood to reach the metropolitan scale.
This park will incorporate in this multimodal profile the new Tecnópolis (the permanent display of Science, Technology and Art based in this venue), the Space of Creativity and Knowledge and a Creative Business Campus.
The new Tecnópolis
The site will include part of the international pavilions, the mini stadium, the outdoor amphitheater and the future Space of Creativity and Knowledge.
The new buildings will expand the area of the current exhibition of science, art and technology, while the renovation of existing buildings will allow them to adapt to new exhibitions.
All along the existing infrastructure, the required investment will be made to continue with the spirit initiated by this exhibition. The creation of this Park will attract the interest of Argentine and foreign visitors. The great commitment and enthusiasm that Argentine society shows towards science, technology, art and culture will be reflected in this world class park.
All designs will be developed in response to the paradigms of respect for the environment, energy efficiency and sustainability criteria, establishing a path for new urban developments in Argentina.
Although the General Paz ring road plays an important role in facilitating transportation around the Metropolitan Area, it is also true that it represents a physical barrier for the inhabitants of this region. The pedestrian bridge will mean a new stage of integration between the people of both jurisdictions and will anchor the metropolitan identity in the context of a recreational area for the enjoyment of all visitors.
An antenna for new technologies will be deployed in the framework of an emblematic architectural design, so it will fulfill a specific function and also serve as an urban landmark.
Buenos Aires offers a permanent calendar of conferences, exhibitions and fairs, which will be strengthened by the availability of this new offer in infrastructure and which will meet the highest international standards.
The intervention on the existing spaces, and the creation of green environments, in direct contact with the economic activities that will be created, will result in the revaluation of the surrounding area, with the target set in promoting developments which will bring direct benefits to the local population.
