On Monday, March 18, 2019, the Interministerial Commission in charge of the argentine participation in the “Expo Dubai 2020” met at the CCK (Kirchner Cultural Center, Headquarters of the Federal System of Public Media and Content)

The theme of the Expo is “Connecting minds, creating futures”, and will take place from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021 in the City of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Universal Expo in Dubai will be the biggest event prior to Expo 2023 Argentina Buenos Aires.

The coordination of the Interministerial Commission for the Expo Dubai 2020 is in charge of the Federal System of Media and Public Content Secretary of Government, Mr. Hernán Lombardi and of the Secretary of Strategic Affairs, Mr. Fulvio Pompeo.

During the meeting it was agreed that the functions of General Commissioner of the Expo Dubai 2020 of the Argentine Republic will be in charge of Mr. Lombardi, while Lic. Diego Capelli (Advisor to the Secretary of Strategic Affairs) shall be the Deputy General Commissioner.

The Argentine pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020 will have a lot of one thousand square meters. There will be three content axes:
Argentina as business and investment opportunities:

  1. Argentina as business and investment opportunities.
  2. Argentina as a tourist destination (cultural diversity, gastronomy, artistic shows)
  3. Argentina of creativity and innovation, headquarters of Expo 2023 Creative Industries in Digital Convergence.

The space will be conducive to business rounds, forums, talks, seminars, presentations of national products, presence in forums and diplomatic activities together with partner countries and competitors during the 6 months of the Expo.

Taking into account the duration of 24 weeks of the Expo 2020, it was proposed to structure the contents by weekly themes: Culture, Shows and Gastronomy, Agriculture, Livestock and Agro-industries; Energy (gas, oil, renewable); Technology; Software; Tourism; Pharmaceutical industry and cosmetics; Mining; Biotechnology; Regional economies / provinces; Horses and the audiovisual industry.
